tanking a shower

I have a shower cubicle which I want to get tanked before tiling; would this be a job that a plasterer would be likely to do ?

if you use a bal kit you can do it yourself,the instructions with it are very clear

is it an easy job (I can tackle most things but plastering is a dark art to me) ?
