tantadisc monobloc kitchen tap

Hi, I've got a 25 year tantadisc monobloc kitchen tap that has to be replaced as its leaking and the 32mm valves are no longer available.

On first look there is a 6mm ish rod visible beneath the sink I assume this has a nut at the top that needs to be undone to get the tap off, seems like an impossible task. Any ideas on how to remove the tap? or is it easier to remove the sink?

Also any recomendations on a replacement manufacturer, want to spend less then £100.

Mant thanks

Made by Tantofex ..from East Grinstead Sussex...are they still in existance :?: you need a small (diameter) long box spanner. Usually sold in kits of 2 or 3 @ plumbers Merchants.

Thanks for that , I now understand how they are fixed, would'nt have guessed in a 1000 years.

Any guidance on good or bad replacements much appreciated.

PTS plumbers merchants do a "Tradesave" range that`s good . They sell the spanners too ;)
