Tap leaking from base

This basin tap drips from below when water collects around the base of the tap. It seems to be centralised on the hole. But I can see a drip when I pour water in this area. Also, the base is all rusty.

I’ve changed taps in the past but wanted to check what I should be purchasing and replacing before I embark on this.

Thanks in advance.

Any basin tap you like the look of ,that comes with flexible hose tap connectors.
If you have not got a set of box spanners ,buy a set for around £10.

This tap has hardly been used. It’s a Bristan tap. I’d like to fix the seal.

I have a tap spanner in the shed.

Which seal are you referring to, and is the tap rusty or is it the fixings below the basin that you referred to ?

The bit underneath is rusty.

I assumed the seal on top and below the basin needs to be replaced?

Ok , replace both of them. The bolts and nuts that hold the tap in place may be able to be reused, but will need cleaning up. Until you remove the tap ,you won't know what the seal is on the top side, could be an O ring or a washer.

Are these washers and bits likely to be available from screwfix/toolstation?
Or would they need a plumbers merchant?

Planning when to pull it apart.

Plumbers merchant would be a better bet than the aforementioned.

Box of assorted O rings on Lidl today £4.
Tails probably just loose in the base of the tap. Many specify hand tighten only .
