Teka cooker hood lamp fitting

Sorry, I asked this before but didn't get round to seeing your replies. Its still annoying me :mad::LOL:

We've got a Teka cooker hood and despite repeatedly changing the bulb in the left hand light (capsule G4) it flickers. The other lamp fitting is fine.

Can't seem to buy another Teka lamp fitting (discontinued). What would you advise? Thanks
 
As per @foxhole 's earlier post, I would try to bend the arms (very carefully) first. It might be the case that the spring"clamps" inside the fitting have become loose over time. Tinning the arms with solder might help if the bulb is still loose.

One of my Festool sanders has a dodgy Plug It connection. One day, I pushed some strands of electrical cable into it to maintain continuity. I don't recommend that you do that... but years later, the connection is working fine.
