Not sure if this is in the right area - but maybe someone will help me anyway. Years ago I installed a telephone extension point from downstairs to an upstairs bedroom from the main box as it enters the house from outside. I now need another extension to my study from the bedroom for a modem connection. Will it be OK to create this new extension from my bedroom extension (an extension off and extension) or do I have to go back to the main house box? Maybe I need a booster or something? Any advice would be much appreciated. ;)

Just don't end up with too many cables at one point... Not so much of a problem if your sockets have screw terminals, but the punch-down IDC connectors are only designed to take two wires each.

If you are using an ADSL broadband service connecting everything in a 'star' from one central point can limit speeds because of unwanted signal reflections.
They are probably happiest with everything daisy chained eg Master socket - Socket 2 - Socket 3 - Socket 4 etc.
