I have burnt off the paint of my 1930’s bay window. As I’m going to be making some new casements with double glazing the frames are going to be open to the elements for a few months.

What can I paint on for a first coat which will protect the wood from water ingress until it’s ready for complete decoration.

You’re probably asking why I didn’t get the new casements done before stripping but there was areas of rot which need cutting out to replace with new wood. It then turned into a major project which I have been meaning to do for a number of years.
