I have made a wide gate for my sideway by putting an up-and-over door on hook and band hinges.

As it is not braced, it tends to settle at the locking side. I am thinking I should put a bracing cable between the top of the gatepost and the bottom of the locking stile, to lift it a bit with a constant tension. So I need something that will not stretch. It will be helpful if I can adjust the tension periodically.

Any suggestions?

Sounds a bit of a hatch up job, anyway google Jakob or 'stainless steel wire systems' or 'stainless rigging' similar.

stainless steel rigging wire, thimballed ends, then use a turnbuckle to adjust tension.
