Tesla Gigafactory Europe to be built in Germany, not UK, as Elon Musk blames Brexit uncertainty

We'll just carry on building nuclear power plants then to charge those batteries that we'll have to buy at a greater expense than would be the case if they were to be manufactured here...

Who'd want 'all the health risks of nuclear waste in their back yard'?

What's your take on Bill Gates investing in travelling wave reactors?

I like the idea of smaller sized nuclear power stations using spent fuel as source. I read up a bit about WAMSR reactors but it seems these molten salt reactors never got off the ground.

5% of voters have died since the referendum. another 6% have become of voting age.
Are you implying that 100% of the 5% that died voted to leave and 100% of the 6% that are now eligible to vote will vote to stay? Gosh, did you canvass those people before they died and those that are now eligible to vote? No? Well you're just guessing, aren't you?

No. Simply that the electorate of the UK is substantially different to what it was in 2016.
To be hell bent on following a 2016 vote in soon to be 2020 is bonkers.
I don't know what way any of the dead/new voters or existing electorate voted, and neither do you.

But the electorate has had an 11% change in make up since the vote so can be called unrepresented by the older vote

If you're trying to make a point, best you put the quote in context...

The full text was...

A recent letter to the papers pointed out that a guy's father had died, and his vote "counted" yet his 19 year old daughter's opinion didn't.
It may well be that Grandad voted remain and the daughter believes in Brexit - but you can't call it democracy

Well, like MOT tests, the 'pass' or in the case of a vote, the result is valid at the time of the test/vote. You just gotta accept it.

If you have a car that passes the test but on the way out of the station, it clips the kerb and damages the tyre, or blows a bulb, or runs out of washer fluid, or the windscreen gets hit by a stone, or a brake hose or wheel cylinder bursts or the power steering belt breaks or or or.... Does that mean the MOT is invalid? No. Same as a vote. Get over it.

Labour won in 2005.

I don't see why there should have been any more elections after that.
Come, come...

Why aren't we still respecting the 1708 result?

The 'will of the people' and all that!

Ah, so once tested no further re-tests are needed?

Actually, you are still required to keep a vehicle in a roadworthy condition...

That piece of paper in many circumstances is worthless as it is just a 'snapshot' of the 'facts' at a given time...

Who knows what 'facts' might change...

So thanks for giving us such a good analogy (y)

Edit: Should we ignore the lies that VW amongst others told in order to 'pass the test'?

Or should we just live with the lies?

If you believe there is a majority for leave, then you must want a 2nd referendum to back that up.
After all youve just said, an MOT is only valid for a year and things change.

Lets have an annual ref!!!!

So you suggest we have a ref every 3 years?
Durhamplumber is scared of another referendum, he has even admitted to himself brexit will damage the economy.

Durhamplumber is now a closet remainer
Perhaps he doesnt like the thought of sheep disappearing from the landscape around him.
