have been asked to test and certify some emergency lighting.....looking at a condensed summary of BS5266 TESTING REQUIREMENTS FOR CENTRAL & SELF CONTAINED SYSTEMS it looks like check for faults, simulate mains failure for one hour, and make sure all are charging again afterwards.
Does anyone know if there is more to it than this?

no thats it however if fittings are over three years old and they are 3 hour duration fittings you should leave them for 3 hours and they should remain lit after this time

I had read onto the three year section but I gather it's a fairly new installation, thanks fireman
