Testing waste pipes tip (Don't laugh)

Hi,
I needed to test the large waste pipes going to the main sewer. I've used to have one of those adjustable bungs, but on this day I didn't have one. I tried rag, but it washed out, then I tried this idea, if you have time to mess about a bit.
A couple of party balloons (one inside the other) attached to a tube by rubber bands and an old inner tube valve at the other end. Blow it up enough to just hold it in the pipe, and test the pipe.
It worked for me, on 4x separate pipes without bursting, and saved me two trips to the tool hire shop.

Any particular colour you prefer ?

I normally use bright red, as for balloons any colour will work. Don't get them mixed up.

Have also used "marigolds" in the past (to seal off an open end)
