I'm trying to treat several window frames with Tetrion Wood Hardener. Despite what it says in the instructions, even after several treatments the soft wood still isn't particularly hard.
Am I expecting too much or are there better products?

I wouldnt bother with it.

Scrape out all the rotten soft timber, got nuts with preservative, stick in some wood filler / resin to replace the lost timber, seal it all up.

you remove 95-100% off the rot then apply hardener to stabilize
it will not give any strength it will just glue together whats there
then splice in new timbers and fill in the odd bit left with filler
do not rely on just the filler to give strength there must be enough timber[1/2-3/4] left to give structural strength dependant on components

stabilizing solution is only helpful for the odd bit you cant easily remove as the only strength is the remaining timber

Was planning on replacing rotten timber and using filler, but still slightly disappointed with the hardener.
Oh well. Research twice - but once.
