I need to temporarily remove a PIR whilst I wallpaper a wall. I know it has a small screw underneath which opens it up. I then have the circuit board inside. This needs to be lifted out before I can get to the screw at the back that attaches it to the wall.

Silly question alert - do I need to switch off and disconnect the battery at the panel before I do this or is it safe to do live because it’s low voltage or something else?

Thanks in advance.

Most are 12 volts, so shock wise yes safe, but they have a tamper connected, so likely the alarm will sound when you try to remove them.
I was going to put the alarm on engineer mode. I think that will stop it from going off?
