Hi there,

I installed a Premier Elite 64-W with a single LCDLP-W keypad (Kit 2 + SmartCom) around 2 months ago and up until 2 day's ago, it's been working great.

A couple of nights ago the app showed a supervisor fault for the keypad at 4/5am but I couldn't see any issue when I checked the keypad. Same again early this morning only when I entered the code on the keypad it was really sluggish, menus just didn't seem to work and eventually, it froze showing something like 'Do you want to Welcome back'.

Removed the batteries with the intention of changing them anyway just in case the ones supplied were old stock but now after re-inserting the batteries I get a nothing (actually all the led's light up briefly and then power pulses but nothing on the screen), the keypad seems to be in sleep mode until I long press a button and then I just get a blank screen (backlight, but no text).

If I press buttons it beeps, if I hold Yes and Menu I see the version number (v1.52) with random chars for what I assume is the keypad serial. I can navigate through the 3 menus on the keypad itself and then back out to a blank screen again.

Pressing Y & N shows key locked/unlocked.

If I connect the keypad to the panel I can view all of the panel menus etc but when I disconnect again, blank screen.

Tried removing the keypad from devices and the zone but that didn't help.

Just wondering if I'm missing something obvious here or anyone has any ideas?

I'll be ordering a wired keypad to swap this out anyway as the wife isn't happy with the fob when holding the baby but I'd like this keypad upstairs.

Thanks

a supervision fault suggests that the keypad hasn't polled in for a few hours.

Think some pictures of the different states would help.

The keypad is supposed to sleep to save battery power and the pressing of a key wakes it up.
You can turn power save off on the keypad to give you a little longer with the fob, but I don't hink its so easy with a child in your arms.

have you done the commissioning process for the wireless, what does it look like on Ricochet monitor?

First, thanks for reply.

When I first set up the panel I ran through commisioning (twice) and the keypad did show up then, it connected directly to the panel.

As it stands the keypad isn't detected by the panel at all, I forgot to mention above I've tried re-commisioning today but that didn't help, I've since removed the keypad and its no longer detected so doesn't display in Ricochet.

This is how Ricochet looks now - http://take.ms/ZoKkG

Before that, the keypad displayed as another device in the star with a direct link to panel, the 'speaker' icon for it was blue.

This is how the keypad looks when I insert the batteries - http://take.ms/busdt

Button presses aren't detected at all, until I do a long press (3 seconds), then it looks like this - http://take.ms/vL4Xm

At that point, button presses appear to 'work' in that they beep, but using my code and trying to arm the system (blind obviously as nothing is displayed) doesn't do anything (Note - this was also the case before I removed the keypad from the system)

If I press the tick and menu button I get this - http://take.ms/mDsAe
(not sure it the value of S should be private but blurred it all the same)

I can navigate now pressing the tick button to view 'Keypress sounds' (BEEP), 'Locking allowed' (YES), 'Powe save mode' (YES - I've also tested no)
After coming out of that menu, I'm back to the blue screen above.

If I plug the keypad into the panel as an engineer keypad, I get this - http://take.ms/iFJQB
(The system alert was just lid tamper from fitting the cable)

I can then use the keypad as an engineer keypad whilst connected, as soon as I unplug it it freezes on whatever screen its on, pull the batteries and I'm back to beginning.

<blockquote>The keypad is supposed to sleep to save battery power and the pressing of a key wakes it up.</blockquote>

This sleep is different, I'm used to pressing the button to wake the keypad but this is more like a deep sleep I guess, button presses don't work until a long press has been done.

The pictures suggest keypad works but wirelesly its not connected, so I would check your zone setup that the keypad is on or not and even then I go through and make sure it has been removed and then go for the relearn
