Hi

I’m installing a Texecom Premier Elite 24 with an LCDLP keypad.

I’m having real problems getting the additional zones on the keypad to work and wonder if I have an issue with the keypad, as I also cannot get the keypad to function properly when set to Address 1 on the DIL switches.

When set to Address 1, the keypad wont recognise any button presses. When I change it to Address 2, its ok. So I left it at that thinking it would be ok.

But as I said, I can seem to get the zones to work either.

Looking at the diagnostics on Wintex, it gives me the impression the keypad isn’t recognised. Screenshot attached.

I would appreciate any help or feedback pls.

That's bit confusing as you screenshoot displaying Keypad 2 - Not fitted

I would start with check of correct cabling of keypad

To get additional zones on keypad you need to map zones in keypad setup by wintex or engineering menu, page 64 of your manual.

Yeah, I know about mapping the zones, its not that.

I thought I had gone through the confirm devices, but checking again it doesnt look like its registered in there and i cant add it.

Any thoughts?

There are only a few ways a device is not seen.

1. address incorrect
2. address conflict
3.power not adequate to function
4 incorrectly wired.
5.Keypad fault

as the keypad works and can communicate with the panel 3, 4 and 5 are unlikely.

In day mode press Yes and menu on the keypad
Add=XXX what address is the keypad assigned to?

What is probably most confusing is address 1 is dip 1 on or off, the rest all off.

So, i had the keypad off and checked everything over, all looks ok.

This time i tried setting the keypad back to Address 1, but this time instead of setting DIP1 to on and the rest off, I set them all to off.

I then pulled the power to the panel and let it come back up.

This time, the keypad buttons work, but i still cant seem to confirm it.

Tried the Yes & Menu. Below.

Eh?? That cant be right!!

The manual is wrong then, or I interpreted it differently....

It looks like on is off and off is on!!

anyway, that's fixed it, so thanks for your help guys, I really appreciate it!!

on the dil switches off is 1234 side, 'ON' is along the top

the manual is not good pictorial on this one, they are supplied all off address 1.
I believe its been raised many times before .

Yeah, just feel a bit of an eejit for not spotting that.

Appreciate you helping me out tho.
