Asked my installer about fitting a oddesey graphics and a new battery pack and he suggests fitting an Orisec one in its place free of charge as he is moving more into this brand, looks the same to me. Opinions please
However the team behind Orisec were originally behind Texecom. They currently have premises just a doors apart on the same street in Haslingden.
The programming in some cases is very similar yet it is different.
If the Orisec Bell is connected, then I would ask the installer to connect the engineers hold off wire, on Texecom bells you fire the strobe in a specific sequence to put the unit in hold off, the Orisec Bell on a non Orisec panel or using conventional bell wiring requires an output from the panel to be wired to the bell box to put it in hold off mode.
Sometime the slightly older Orisec bell boxes (design changed recently to make this issue easier for installers to deal with) have an initialisation issue with network and conventional wiring modes, easily resolved with a removal of power. To be fair I think from memory the bell box opt for conventional wiring over network so they shouldn't see an issue at all as connecting to Texecom Panel is conventional.
Orisec will screen print a single cover, Texecom we have to order 40 screen prints, or use the cheaper less storage space solution od the Texecom Oddyesy X and the inserts.
Hard wired units very simple, wirelessly cross brands isn't so easy.
I would opt for a hard wired backlight option I am guessing its hardwired.
Thank you he explained the fact of bulk ordering the graphics and how it was ex Texecom that started it up and look wise it is the same design as the Texecom offset so as long as it works and he is doing any maintenance on it I’m happy, but will ask about the hold off, all on a hard wired system. And once again thanks for your helpful replies
