Texecom Premier Elite bizarre lights

Hi all,

I'm installing a new elite 24 to replace an old system. I'm using the old wires so I'm hoping they're good. I've installed a couple and I'm seeing some stuff that I've not seen before. Is it normal that when disarmed upon detection of a person the MW LED lights, then the IR LED lights, then the alarm LED? I don't think the alarm led is supposed to light up unless an alarm occurs. Am I wrong? They are the elite QD PIR.

The other thing is the alarm bell box. The LEDs are flashing even when disarmed. Is that normal? I thought they were supposed to be off when the system wasn't armed?? Where are my wires crossed?

Yes that's normal (both questions).

The MW LED indicates MW detection.
The IR LED indicates IR detection.
When both detect movement the alarm LED lights to indicate that an alarm signal is sent to the panel. The panel ignores the alarm signal if it is not set.

The bell box LEDs flash all the time. You wouldn't want them to indicate to a potential burglar that the alarm is not set.
