The problem with mine is not the mains failure indication but with an immediate spurious PSU failure that needs an engineer reset to stop it.
I understood (probably from here?) that this was a bug corrected in later versions of hardware or firmware, but since the panel is otherwise faultless I haven't attempted to upgrade.
The 50Hz variations are very small under normal circumstances. The last time there were major variations was during the regional power cuts last year, when ISTR the frequency dropped as low as 45Hz

There was a firmware version where even if the mains failed, it required an engineer reset, even if it was programmed as user resettable.

That's a slightly different issue than the beeping due to a mains fail.
