Hi all,

I have been researching a new install for a few weeks now as the old one is, well old. I first looked at the ricochet as recommended for its wireless good at what it does characteristics.

I have now come across the powermaster 30, the main reason being that it has supported wireless heat and smoke detectors.

So, anyone any advice or recommendation between the two?

Thanks.

Obviously its a matter of what you want now, or how long you are prepared to wait for the other system to have what you want.

Most companies doing wireless will have or will be introducing wireless versions of detectors including smokes and carbon monoxide detectors.

If you ask them I would be surprised if they can give you a definitive time table on availability and most wont help end users anyway.

OK in all truth the Powermax has a wider selection of extras to add onto the kit. I would not both with powermaster as it is complicated. The powermax complete is more than sufficent and meets all the same specs as Powermaster.

If you are fitting yourself then be warned the Visonic manual is written by oversea people and even by Visonic UK's admission, its a nightmare to understand. Brilliant kit all the same!

The Texecom Richocet is newer to the market and is a UK product.....very good brand indeed...As of yet it does not have anywhere near the amount of components that visonic offers. I have fitted one unit and it was nice but still the powermax complete wins IMO.

Either alarm is superb, you cannot go wrong!
