Hi

With so many houses being broken into round my area I've fitted a Texecom Ricochet system today, couple of questions if you dont mind helping though:

1) I learnt the bell onto zone 40 but when I set the system and activated it the bell doesnt sound, do I need to change a setting in zone setup?

2) When I initially set the system I can walk around anywhere without activating the system, the PIR have a settle time of 8 seconds but this is longer - not an issue just so I know how it should work

I've gone with the connect as well not sure how reliable it is though, initial setup was fine but then it locked out, after short period it connected again, could be wifi issue I guess

Thanks

When the bell box is learned on the programming is correct and only needs changing if you need it to sound on more areas.

Wireless pirs go to sleep when activated for 3 minutes, start the walk test after no one has been in front of a sensor for at least 4 minutes.

Have you put the system in commissioning mode?

Thanks

That helps, doesn’t explain the bell box though, if I go into bell test and strobe test it works fine but when the System is activated I only get a local sounder from the keypad?

I moved the jumper from commissioning mode right at the end before closing the panel, I presume it should be removed?

What does that jumper do?

Another house done tonight, glad this is fitted!

yes it should be removed, its to establish the ricochet mesh takes about 15-20 minutes, if you don't monitor its progress in ricochet monitor I would leave it 30 minutes before moving the jumper back, leaving it indefinitely will cause the batteries to run down prematurely and some things may not work.

as for the bell activation, what does it say on the event log?

The event log showed the system went into alarm, I removed the bell and the re learnt it and when tested it was fine thanks.

I wondered if I could somehow arm my van using ricochet, maybe clutching at straws I dont know, I wondered if I could omit a vibration sensor during the day time and include it in the night time, when the van is on the drive.

Problem is how to stop the device reporting in as a fault when the van is not there, is there anyway to achieve this?

My aim was if my van was broken into (again) then the texecom would activate and hopefully be enough for them to clear off

Thanks

you would need to have the sensor in the van, then left on your property I guess as if it was left in your van after 2 hrs or so you would get a supversion fault as the sensor is no longer polling in.

you would also have to establish the mesh with the device in the van, as that's how it would normally be to get the best results. does you vane not have an alarm?

Funny this topic has come up as the Orisec rep was in with the new small wireless panel , this was one option that we talked about that's going to be a feature on this panel .

fell out with Orisec too, lol, wont let me access the installers section as I haven't bought anything from them.

shame as some of the kit is very good, but if I cant access the manuals or the software because I haven't bought anything how can I appraise it, don't forget I still have a panel from when I was beta testing.

not only that if I did have access to it and then I stopped buying, they would close my access to it down.

like I said shame.

Its a pickup truck, the rear doesnt have an alarm, since it was broken into I now reverse it up tight to the house, I had hoped this would be a solution for me.

What would be the consequence if I fitted a richochet vibration sensor to the truck and forgot to bring it inside in the morning, texecom would go into fault but I'm thinking the alarm would set with a supervision fault but would it drain the battery?

if your truck is in a drive way may want to look at the external; ricochet device Premier External TD-W

it wouldn't drain the battery but you will have a systems alert every day I would suspect

Wow, I’m having so much grief with the fobs on the wireless keypad, used Texecom numerous times before but always hard wire the keypad and bell but not this time.

Is there a knack for getting the prox reader to wake up, I can place the fob (Top left) and leave it there for 5 seconds minimum before it’s read.

The Mrs just wants to use a code instead as it’s that bad

Thanks

the keypad on power saving mode requires you to press tick I believe to wake the keypad up first, take the keypad off power saving mode and it will be resolved.

if its not police monitored I would just use the codes, the prox tags are attached to your keys, they get found walk in use the key and disarm the system
