Hi,

I have a Texecom Premier Elite in a rental property which has been working perfectly for years (except a PSU fault which I fixed a while back) and 2 days after a new tenant moves in I receive a message that the RKP is locked.

I have a vague memory of this happening previously with a tenant but it was soo long ago I can't remember the cause or the fix and a quick scan of the install manual is not revealing.

What I would like to know is what has caused this, is it too many incorrect code attempts?

Will an engineer reset (enter code twice and reset) clear this or will it need additional action?

Is there a setting to prevent this or raise the code attempt threshold or even a lock out timer?

Thanks.

So I may have answered my own question here but I would appreciate if somebody can confirm as I can't get to the system until later and like to be prepared.

2 possible issues:

1) The user has simply locked the keypad by pressing yes & no together without realising. I doubt this is the case as the system actually text an RKP LOCKED via SMS so although possible I will assume this is not the case and it is actually an 'event'.

2) The user has entered more than 24 invalid key strokes and the keypad is locked out. I will check the current config on Wintex later but I doubt I have ever changed the keypad lockout timer from default (global/system timers/28) so I may need to reduce this or even enter a value so it is not open ended.

Assuming issue 2, will an engineer reset work on the keypad to get me back in or will I need a total power down?

if its keypad lock, press yes and no the keypad, should go keypad active.

if its a code lock out they should reset them selves after a set time period, depends on how its set up for a code lock out to the time periods involved.
