Ok I have ordered a voltage meter is that ok?

Don’t know if this would help but when I connect the keypad with the panel the top left heats up on the keypad

Check all connections from panel to keypad.
You will need a voltmeter to check that you have voltage.
Are you in the trade ? ,can you borrow one.

No I’m not in the trade we just needed a house alarm very new to all of this and was quoted £1000 for an alarm system with 4pir and 2 contact sensors so very new

Start again
Rewire keypad red + Black- white T green R
Put wire links in tamp, bell tamp and all zones 1-8
Ensure keypad tamper closed.
Default control panel by applying power and pressing reset.
Suggest you setup and program control panel on kitchen table and test before you install.
When installing system ensure you site your devices in the correct position, not just the easiest.
When running cables,take from control panel to final postion for each device.
DO NOT RUN from device to device then to panel.
