Thankyou British taxpayers

Didn't read all the thread , sorry.
A fairly p*ss poor start then.

But i would like to add genocide to the list of atrocities conducted by the ''empire''.

Fill ya boots.

As for the foreign aid , Its funny to see so many ''experts' who in reality know nothing about the subject being discussed. Really , I didnt know we had so many experts on world economies on the forum..

Name names fatboy.
I'd welcome your one sided superior knowledge.
(For a chuckle if nothing else.)

I do not have any superior knowledge and its certainly not one sided, I just observe and comment on what I have observed , for instance any fool would know our foreign aid policies are not solely to educate the people of Pakistan in maths , English and geography so that they can then come to England and scrounge off our already stretched benefits system.
Just as any fool would know that immigrants cost just a tiny proportion of our taxes , more would go towards the ''kids for benefits and free houses'' types that we seem to forget when we are all letting off about the benefits system.
For example , I know of one family of 7 children , the parents dont work because it wouldn't be worth their while and they want more kids.

Compare that to someone who comes to the UK looking for work but isnt allowed to until they get ''processed' which takes the best part of a year.

If I had a choice of who to back with my taxes I know who it would be.

Dont get me wrong ,I think ALL scroungers of any nationality and status should be clamped down on , not just the minority.
And our government should make public and easily accessible any info regarding foreign aid , unless they wanted to create hype and generalisations as a by product to keep public opinion under control.

Hmmm ,,now let me think??? What size families do Pakistani's have?? Are they small 2.3 kids type or are they 6 , 7 or even 8 sized families?

I know some Pakistani family's who have very few kids , look at the massudes on enders for instance , they only have 3 kids.
You got my address wrong by the way.
My real address might be found here in my give a **** pocket , oh , hang on , no , its empty.

And now your going to tell me that Eastenders is a good reflection of real life??  Hmmmm
Does the asylum know your missing yet?

You should talk to my missus about enders, im just in the same room when its on.
Cant you cover for me? Or dont they let you mix with the other patients?

As far as empires go, by comparison the British were quite civilised and generally beneficial to their subjects. Of course occasionally some brutal measures, commensurate with the time, were used to maintain order But we were softies compared to the Ottoman, French, German And Dutch empires. Huge numbers of the army and police we used to maintain order were recruited locally. Large regiments of Sikh/Sepoys were the British army of occupation,
Prior to us arriving India was a number of squabbling principalities and Sultanates speaking a dozen different languages. We, OK by force, united India, which is now one of the tiger economies, due entirely to the influence of the British and what we left behind. Like a system of government, law, education and commerce and one of the largest railway systems in the world. Not to mention a common language which all the different tongues use to communicate with each other. we built a fantastic new capital city Delhi
In the 1980s I traveled extensively for an engineering company which exported to every country in the world. One of my trips which would last 6 weeks encompassed A tour of India then on to Burma. Thailand, malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, When I arrived in Indonesia I was met by our local distributor management who took me out to eat. They asked me where I had been prior to arriving. I explained India, Burma Thailand , malaysia and Singapore. They then asked what I thpught of their country I answered that with each country I had visited the infrastructure and order had improved til I reached Indonesia, then it went backwards Their response was :- You see Mr. Bill all the countries you have visited were run, influenced by the British, who when they left were arrogant enough to leave systems of government in place and support for the future if needed. We were run by the dutch, who, when they left, just up and left us to ourselves. We wish we had been run by the British

In fairness I spent a long time living in Holland and couldn't fault it , they may not have left much behind but the country as a whole is way more together than England, Its a shame England wouldn't take a few a few ideas from the Dutch when it comes to running a country and everything in it.

Its not the way Holland or its government is run its the state of mind of the people which makes things work. View any high street in Britain on a Friday and Saturday night to see the difference.

yeah but their system is so much better, you cant just sign on , you have to work before you can sign on, and the more you earn , the more you are entitled to.
If you work seasonal work your company gives you holiday stamps every week , like a savings account for when you are out of work.
There is no NHS and I didnt see dead people all over the streets, motor insurance goes by the weight of your car and not the amount of young drivers who crash them.
All in all its a much fairer system that actually benefits everyone.
But yes , peoples attitudes are also way different.
The police for instance are out to help you and advise if you are doing something wrong , the police here are out to do you and find something wrong.

Funny you should say that , most Dutch people drink from glasses , sometimes a 250 ml glass where as we drink pints/litres.
