Thatched Cottage Loft - how much can it take?

We have a thatched cottage with very little storage space - however there is a loft space above one of the bedrooms - about 10 feet square
Looking at the construction would you say I could put a decent amount of stuff in here - is there a limit on weight (within reason) and can I use all the volume cheers

I would not be storing anything heavier than the Christmas decs and empty suitcases etc up there.

even straddling the beams - we won't be putting anything weight bearing onto the material between the beams
