one question for yas folks.
do you start on stella and stick to stella or wash it down with maybe a fosters or carling for example? just to keep the mind altering tendencies at bay.sticking to stella just makes me...well....zzzzzzzzzzz.also grolch tastes shat after drinking stella i think.

I drink cider by choice, but pubs only tend to have Strongbow (good) or Blackthorn (horrid-tasting chemical rubbish). So if the former isn't on offer I'll drink lager - I find Stella AND Carling to be too sweet, much prefer Carlsberg or Fosters. Occaisionally, for a complete change, the odd night on Guinness.

You should attend the odd CAMRA night hither and thither... I am not a cider lover myself (I love the zoider, but it never loved me back!) but my cider/perry-loving friends always have a good night at beer-festivals.

I must come clean, I used to own a map that had "Beasties be here" written outside the M25, hence Bristol, Kernow, Zummerzet et al come under the heading "West Country"

I was drinking with a Bristolian the other night who used the word "gert" frequently, I assumed it was a term common to all of the West Country

And surely it is "Sooth Glaaarstashoy-ah" anyway

Apparently Bristol is now in the unitary authority of Bristol not South Gloustershire. But then I still thought it was in Avon

Unfortunately the people using the word 'gert' are not recently born ... So would have come from Saff Gloshire ... We, on the west soil know the boundaries, never mind the seat polishers wasting time and money with Avon, BANEs (they hate that themselves, saw a note forbidding use of BANEs by Bath & North Somerset Council employees ... guess why ?)

There are outlying areas which come under a Bristol postcode but the authority which runs them could be South Glos, BANES (Bath and North East Somerset) or North Somerset. I live on the boundary of brissel and souff Glos. The reason you know this is that my council tax is the same as someone in Souff glos who is 2 bands higher!! Anyway.................zider.
