The bottom entry ball valve

The bottom entry ball valve on my toilet needs replacing the trouble is it has a very small diameter hole on the base of the cistern for it to fit through , much smaller than a standard valve.
From what I can see you then need to put a union onto the valve to then take it up to the size where a normal tap connecter threads onto. Any place to look as I get blank looks from the places I have tried.

It could be a job for a Rotozip saw if you could buy, borrow or steal one....they have diamond core drills of varying diameters available which claim to enlarge any existing hole..... Seen one, never used it though. Wondering if your fill valve is a continental one of some description. John :)
 
sounds like the euro 3/8" thread.

fluidmaster or torbeck do a 3/8" bottom entry float valve.

try screwfix they do fluidmaster.
they are easy to get hold of.

Thanks for the replies chaps . Will call into screw fix or search on line for one.
Will have to flush with a bucket for now, oh what fun plumbing is. :rolleyes:
