The Greatest Group Ever

Without the Beatles we would have not had the Brit pop boom and other boy bands such as oasis, suede ect

Well that's 2 more good reasons to hate them then.

Stones were much better, they actually kept the raw spirit of 50's rock n roll.

Even the Monkees were better!

In terms of musical ability, the Beatles weren't the greatest group ever.
In terms of musical influence and legacy, they probably were.

How can anyone not agree that The Beatles were the greatest of all time.

People will still be listening to them in 200 yrs.

Their chemistry when making music was unrivalled even turning throwaway songs into masterpieces such was their talent.

Only ABBA came anywhere close to their songwriting prowess!

Duran Duran.
Still have clothes from the 80s.
Of course I only wear them in private now or I would be beaten up. :D

Hope this brings back some memories of being young to some.

Nothing more to say.

Fifty years ago, a young group stepped on stage in a dark cellar club on Liverpool's Mathew Street for the first of what would be almost 300 appearances.

When The Beatles first performed at the Cavern on 9 February, 1961, it was so low key it wasn't even advertised.

A year and a half, and 292 performances, later, the group was set for stardom and the Cavern would become one of the world's most famous clubs.

While both Lennon and McCartney had already played the club as The Quarrymen, the un-advertised lunchtime session was George Harrison's first appearance at the Cavern.
