The Human Psyche

Why are you getting upset? As long as you don't have family who cares what you do.

Perhaps it's cos tobacco is more addictive than heroine, i'm not sure the same can be said for a 9mm slug through the brain...........but what do i know.

Sorry i meant nicotine.

There are people who regularly post on here who could put a 9mm slug into their head and it would have no effect

If you don't have family then who cares what you do with your health

People like you Joe - you just started a thread pointing the finger of stupidity at people who smoke - why do you care?

Me, I care about even those who have noone, more maybe... don't like to see anyone unhappy, even a total stranger. If I were able to, I would remove the option for people to smoke. The only reason we do is because we are addicted and the drug is freely available, at a cost.
It is th Goverments responsability to remove tobacco from sale, instead of taking the largest share of the profits from it.
They have decided for us that cannabis, cocaine etc are unsuitable for use/consumption - why not be consistent and stop "pushing" this crap to us addicts? The goverment is just a dirty drug dealer and smokers are the victims so we don't need anyone rubbing our noses in it ok joe?

It has nothing to do with death.

You've just got to ask yourself one question: do you think the reward justifies the risk?

Well, do ya joe?

I'd have a go at Russian roulette if the prize for not dying was a lifetime supply of smokes

You have free will mate. You can STOP smoking whenever you wish to.

For Russian Roulette players I imagine the motivation is either suicide or desperation (for money or notoriety). For smokers the motivation is a drug addiction.

But I suspect that you already knew that, and I'm aware that you have a habit of asking a question that has an obvious answer when you don't have anything else to offer, in the hope that the person you ask gets it wrong and you can poke holes in their reply.

So I've said before: bring it on (he didn't).

I used to smake a loing time ago. I gave it up - so why can't you? Who drags you off to the shop to a get a packet of fags?

Joe, I think this is a reasonable question to pose. I would suggest that the reasons people decide to begin smoking are different from the reasons they find it so hard to give up. When people start to smoke, they're usually children or young adults who want to be grown-up and smoking is a visible symbol of growing up. Dying is not on their minds but the success of those cigarettes called 'Death' suggests that there is a certain glamour attached to doing something adults perceive as dangerous. I used to smoke in my teens and I did it because (1) all my peers were doing it. (2) I thought it was cool. (3) Like having a drink in your hand, it's a bit of a prop at social gatherings. (4) I thought I was going to live forever.
