Hi All,

When installing a socket in a brick/plaster wall, metal backboxes, with the cables coming vertically up from the floor beneath, and the cables fitting inside plastic oval conduit:

Should the conduit run right into the back box? or should it stop just outside the backbox and then the cable run through a grommet into the backbox?

Should both legs of the ring run in one piece of conduit and through the same hole? or should they be in two separate pieces of conduit?

Thanks for your answers,

Slip

If you don't have any glands then stopping at the box and entering via a grommetted hole would work ok - both cables in the same conduit is best to save extra chasing but if you really wanted to run 2 pieces of plastic oval then theres nothing wrong with it I guess :)
