The big 4 accountancy firms are struggling to recruit staff with about 4-7 PQE - staff that are competent enough to go work on their own but not too experienced they want to manage rather than execute.

A friend mentioned how the EU staff have either resigned or moved back to mainland Europe. They have now recruited 10 new staff, 6 from India and 4 from Pakistan.

All on Tier 2 visas, which in all likely will be extended so after 6 years they will be able to apply for British citizenship.

BREXXERS Rejoice.

Unintended consequence of Brexit.

What is the need for any of them to work onshore?

Conversely, we've lost not one. We struggle to find talent anywhere in the world, the EU (inc UK) usually being the worst place to look.

Bunch of scheisters imo over charging for doing f all

Like Rhino's hard of hearing and eager to chargec

Ok, why does that need to be done onshore?

Well some of the data the accountants need to access is confidential and the client is unwilling to give them a copy or they will only provide access with supervision on site. Also surprise surprise its more efficient having someone onsite doing the work when they need an answer to a query. Eventually once the auditors have enough information and the client is happy they can go back to their offices, but until then it's onsite.

Sounds dreadfully inefficient to me.
