Ever since we put down mouse poison to kill a few mice in the house, the warm weather brings a smell from under the floors....

A bit of research on this site suggests that if the smell was the dead mice, it would have gone by now (6 months on) and been rank. I can't think of the best way to describe it , sort of musty.

It happened in our previous house too: years of no smell, then mice, poison laid but the smell never went.

The problem area was the kitchen and that is where the poison was put but the smell seems to even come upstairs to the bedrooms in the hot weather.

Could it be the mouse droppings, the poison, the mice, their wee???

Is there a way to solve this other than move house again?

Have you got airbricks to ventilate the subfloor, and have you cleared them of cobwebs, dirt and builders rubble?

There are airbricks around the house and I will check for blockages though a quick scout around suggests they are ok. Thank you for the suggestion.
