Thermal overloads / oil filled contactors.

If it is still there, the control room for the bridge at Deptford creek was a little palace, the operator polished the equipment daily and had an armchair, fridge, cooker and all the mod cons. Also mosaic floor and the switchgear was black enamelled.

I've been back in the switch room, and I took my camera with me this time, so thought I'd post a few pictures for anyone who might be interested.

Now our switch room isn't any where near as posh as sparkyy's was, but here is the overall shot of everything.

Another switchfuse. This one supplies a properly dodgy CEEform socket directly underneath it. There are no covers on the bottom of the busbar chamber either.

A big thing sat in the corner of the room. No idea what it does!

I'd guess at PF correction, and maybe something to do with this on the main panel and a big naff off capacitor?

Nice loop and kA reading at the incommer

Ah, the memories come flooding back. I would have thought with a bit of TLC those oil filled switches will last for years, built to last.

Code 3 comming on WRT those oil filled breakers?

Not sure it was worth doing that loop test ;) , you'd be better off calculating it from the size of the transformer and unloading tails.... unless you know someone with a LTW425?
