Hi, I recently passed my first ACS exam. I then went on to do my CEN1. I failed on one question. It was: what would be the problem if the contacts on the thermo interrupter where dirty? I put that the dirt would break the electrical circuit and cause the valve to shut down. I was marked wrong for this. I thought about it the next day and thought; If the contacts where dirty then the pilot wouldn't light in the first place, because the circuit couldn't be made to carry the electrical charge to the solenoid. Would this be correct?
