Hi, we are in the proces of having a large extension built (14x45 ft) to our cottage. The internal walls are thermolite blocks and the space is split into 2 big rooms. I plan to do all the internal work and wandered what was the best and cheepest finnish to use on these blocks-do I use plasterboard and dot and dab them on or do I do a sand cement coat then plaster.

Well, a sand cement coat is out of the question. The alternative to boarding is really bond and skim.

Just depends how good you are with the float or straight-edge

Cheapest is to board and just tape and fill the joints
