I've had to put a new stat in my fridge today as the other one had completely packed in.
I couldn't get the manufacturers replacement, but fitted a perfectly acceptable pattern one.
The only difference is that the replacement stat has a capilliary tube that is twice as long as the original, and to get the fridge to cool properly I have to turn the stat much further down than before. Is this fact due to the length of the capilliary - maybe sensing more heat than before due to its length? Would this be a problem?
I'd appreciate any comments!
Thanks for reading, and have a good evening.
John :)

OK and thanks for that, Leccy.....I've coiled up the capilliary tube as best I could around the area that it is supposed to be temperature sensing - its all I could do, just to use it up!
