thermostat controlling LP241 programmer

hi,

i hope someone can assist with this issue

i'm across from australia and have been renovating my dads kitchen.
i disconnected the programmer and junction box so i could sheet the walls then reconnected the wires.

the issue is that now the when the programmer is off, the roomstat can over-ride it and activate the pump, where previously it did not (as per my dad)

the boiler is operating fine

the thermostat is a 2 wire Wickes unit, C going to terminal 4, and N/O going to pump S/live in the JB, then to the pump.

is there any way this issue can be corrected?
