I think i need to replace a rad valve as it doesn't switch off and the rad stays fully hot all the time.

Any tips on how to solve this ?

I think the valve came from screw fix, but not 100% sure and it is approx 7 yrs old. Could i just go and buy a new thermostat and use the top section, or will i need to do a full replacement and so a full drain down ?

if you can get the same make/ model its a 5 min job to swap the head. manufacturers do not make their valves interchangeable unfortunately.you can get conversion kits that allow certain ones to interchange ,have not bothered with them myself.

I had the same with one of mine. I swapped the head with one of the others that I always had on max anyway.
