Hi, I’ve been trying to fit some new smart Tado thermostats when doing so I’ve discovered my thermostat pins are seized fully open.

Any suggestions on how to fix? Or do I just need to buy new valves?

I’ve attached a photo of the valve for ref there’s 3 radiators I’ve tried and all the same.

Thanks

well dont use the same idiot that put PTFE tape on the threads of the existing valves

Those valves look ancient. Always best to get new ones when fitting a smart home system - old ones can be stiff as you've discovered, and this will reduce battery life and increase wear & tear on your expensive new valve heads
