I am changing my honeywell 6106 thermostat to a digistat 3.

According to the instructions for the digistat I require

1 is common
3 is demand
2 is satisfied

on my honeywell 6106 the configuration is not as suggested on the digistat instructions which says it should be

1 is common
3 is demand
4 is satisfied
2 is neautral

I have a cable from the programmer the black is going to 2 and the red to 1 and earth is isolated.

the other cable, black goes to 2 and red to 3 and the earth is isolated.

Anyone have any idea what cables go where as I am confused.

Thanks in advance.

What are the two cables : "The cable" and "The other cable" don't tell us much.

"cable from the programmer the black is going to 2 and the red to 1" 2 & 1 on what?

If you didn't have wires on 1 and 3 in the 6106 it wasn't doing anything.

Terminals 1 and 3 on both stats perform the same functions, so transfer the two red wires accordingly. The black wires are both neutrals and have no function in relation to new stat but might need to remain connected for continuity purposes, so fit an insulated connector to these. Earth wires can remain isolated or connected to earth terminal if one is provided.
