Thermostatic cartridge, partially working?

Hi all

Is it common for a (faulty) thermostatic cartridge to supply hot water to one outlet and not another on a multiple valve?

IE. no hot water to the fixed shower head but hot water to the non-fixed shower arm

You could take out the cartridge and leave it soaking in lime scale remover for a couple of hours. Cheap and easy fix........sometimes.

Surely water distribution has nothing to do with the cartridge?

I had thought that but assumed that the perhaps the slight difference in heights might have some bearing.
