I've built a partition in a bedroom, but it's not perfectly vertical. The stud/plasterboard is positioned next to a window, theres a gap of about 8mm between the new wall and the return on the window (at the top), but the partition is only about 3mm away at the bottom of the window return.

When I skim the boards, can I put it on 8mm thick so it brings it flush with the window return?

Any help appreciated.

You can but you have to dub it out first , its best to dub out with bonding then skim , but it can be done with just multi dub it out let it pick up then lay your skim on
