I brought two long life high efficiency lamp bulbs for my outdoor lamp posts, one in front garden and one at the rear.
I had previously been using 25 watt bc incandescent lamp bulbs which gave out a reasonable amount of light.

The new so called high efficiency lamps are suposed to consume 7 watts, and give an equivalent light output of a 45 watt lamp.

What a load or rubbish, £5.99 each and they are visably dimmer than the previous bulbs, never again!
Incandescents in future, despite having to replace more frequently.

I bought 12 Energy saving downlighters with robus 7w Cold Cathode lamps Since having these fitted just over a year ago 6 of the 12 lamps have failed, the failed lamps were replaced by the online retailer we purchased the lamps from, however another bulb has just failed just outside the warranty period and the retailer now refuses the replace anymore. These lamps definitely are not up to the job as they advertise 10,000 hour life and ours couldn't have been used for 300hours.... how does a manufacturer get away with selling goods this poor?
