Hello all,

I've got some leyland gloss, it's think as hell.. like tar which is fine for the dloors and frames but doing the archatraves is a bit of a nightmare. Can I thin it down a tough using white spirit?

Thanks

Hi there if it has been stored in a shed or garage it will be like tar try putting it near a radiator for few hours instead of thinning, it will return to its normal state ready for glossing no need to thin leyland gloss, thinning will lose all its properties its all about the tempreture when doing gloss work

thanks for the reply. The gloss is brand new but I'm guessing the house is a little cold for it. I will heat some up. Thanks.

Alternatively use some owatrol oil (a proprietary blend of linseed oil and turps). It makes the paint flow rather than thinning it like white spirit.
