I've got Win7 and latest Firefox but no problems.
Have you got Ccleaner installed, if so run the cleaner to clear out all your temp files. If not installed, it is worth getting.
If not, use Firefox to clear out the History.
Open Firefox -> Tools -> Clear Recent history -> Select Today -> Details (if list is not showing) and tick all Except Cookies and Active Login -> OK.
Then clear out IE even if you do not use it,
Open Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Delete Browsing History -> Tick all Except Cookies and Passwords -> click Delete.
Have you installed any Add-ons recently or have you checked them for updates? Tools -> Addons -> Extensions -> Updates.

Have you tired firefox in safe mode- not windows safe mode but the other option in the start>programfiles>firefox>safemode.
This runs with no plug ins.
How are IE8, Opera or Chrome, if you have them?

I would also look at Flash but not sure if this site ever uses flash ads.

Since cleaning everything out with CC I've had no more similar freezes.
There have been a couple of crashes that Firefox has sent a crash report about.
Then 2 days ago there was an update installed. No probs to date

Run the Cleaner in Ccleaner about once a week to get rid of all temp files.
But remember that if you have visited a new site and signed in there and you want to keep visiting it, in Ccleaner go to Options -> Cookies and move the cookies for that site across to the roght list to keep them before running the cleaner.
