I’ve never been concerned about immigration.

The failures in this country are due to our domestic politics, not foreigners, not EU.
but yet you voted to leave the EU whilst the worst government for decades was in power here

I think he. really believes that they are all Drs and engineers, I don't think he realises a percentage of them will be terrorists and even a small percentage of them means massive problems for us.
He believes whatever he's told to believe nowadays.
His Brexit vote was most likely the last independent thought he had.

You still won't say what motivated you to vote leave, though.
The ignorant excuse just doesn't cut it.
There must have been a reason, or reasons.

This reminded me of your reply to me on the other thread which is now locked. You said:

FOM was never a proposal on the table from the leave side as I remember it.
That was one of the main reasons why so many voted leave.
Switzerland and Norway both have FOM with the EU.

TBH, I had forgotten a lot of the finer details of the referendum campaign, so I had to think back.

Obviously, you are correct.

What the Leave side did, though, was to claim that we could sign a bespoke deal with the EU, keeping all the benefits of membership, and just get rid of the bits we didn't like, such as FOM and paying for membership. I thought this wouldn't be possible. But still, after the result, I was hopeful that somehow they would be able to pull it off. It quickly became apparent that there wasn't really much of a plan.

FOM was a proposal on the table from the leave side: Nigel Farage supported the Norway option before the referendum. Norway is in the Single Market and has FOM

By the way before the referendum, the leave side did not say voting leave meant leaving the SM, there were lots of discussions either way

Lirefighter is suffering revisionism

He won't say why and never will.
He's always skulking behind the faux ignorance excuse which leads me to believe (amongst many other indicators) that he is nothing more than a spineless, cowardly turncoat.
People who accept they made a mistake show courage.

The people who still support Brexit despite overwhelming evidence it’s a pile of poo are spineless weeds.

I had to go back and check. But I believe Lirefighter is right about the referendum campaign itself. Nobody of any significance on the Leave side said we would keep FOM. There were plenty of lies and distortions. But I think on the FOM issue itself, they were pretty clear. How they intended to square all the circles was never actually explained, though!

To keep it accurate.

Nobody on the leave side actually said what brexit would involve. Brexit was never determined.

And without doubt, what we have got now, is exactly what was voted for. It can't be anything else because there was no brexit plan or outline.

There were a couple of key parts, though, to the Leave campaign. We would end FOM and we would stop paying the membership fee. Whilst keeping all the benefits of membership. How that was going to be achieved was very vague.
