Hi
This is my first post to the forum, I hope someone may help. The other morning steam started to fire into the expansion tank. The boiler had been working OK and was set to run on minimum temp on the stat. When I dashed to turn it off it was on full fire and would not turn off either by the controls or electric. I had to turn the gas valve off. The radiators were so hot it they were virtually glowing. Today I turned it back on and it fired up again without electric, and again it has had to be isolated at the gas valve. There was a buzzing associated with the initial failure. A qualified electrician who was with me this morning said the solenoid had initially stuck, but today it was clicking when the stat was being turned. I dont want to start searching for the wrong parts. A qualified CORGI plumber can have a look at it next week but if parts need to be ordered I hope to have it working again asap

Rgds and TIA

If as you say boiler would not turn off when you isolated electrics an controls would not do anything then its a new gas valve you require
