I am ripping my bathroom out to fit a new one, the property was a new build 11 years ago since i bought it, I've never had any issues of loose tiles etc but when i came to remove the tiles they just dropped of like they was not even bonded, one full wall came crashing down with a few hits of the hammer the plaster under neath looks new with only a few marks on from the tile adhesive, what i am wondering is why this might have happened, so i don't make the same mistakes, most of the bathroom will have fresh new plaster board / wedi board going up to which will not be plastered but primed then the tiles going directly onto the plaster board hoping they will stick.
