Hi, about to get our toilet floor tiled. Existing floor was concrete but the builders had to dig out the drainage and the holes have been refilled with concrete - in places this was probably 15cm deep.

How long does this need to dry before laying ceramic floor tiles? Our builder seemed to think that tiles could be laid fairly quickly as they are porous, but for laminate would need a full drying out time of 1mm per day.

Our tiler said he can put a membrane down which would cost us 50 quid extra if we're not sure and don't want to wait a long time.

Any thoughts?

Thanks very much!

If your going by the book, 1mm a day is right. The tiles aren't usually porous, so forget that side of it.

Your tiler is also right.
