Ticking radiator

I had a thermostat radiator fitted in the bedroom 2 years ago. After being off all summer, it has now started to make a ticking sound when it is turned on which at times is very loud.

I do not have a combi boiler. This is the only radiator with a thermostat in the house.

Very grateful for any help.

could be a number of things. When the rad. heats up it expands, maybe it has settled on its wall brackets and is now noisy as it expands and contracts.

Therefore does the ticking stop after the rad. has warmed up and start again when the system shuts down (at night for most people)?

if the ticking never stops it may be due to debris in the system. I would advise bleeding the radiator to see if that helps.
