we have a tiger loop GOK GS pro Fi 3 which needs bleeding every other day or so. the boiler runs fine once the loop has been bled but wont start up from cold until its bled again. it will only start once the lockout button is pressed after bleeding. worcester bosch greenstar utility with new pump, control box, coil and optic sensor. the tank is approx 300mm above the boiler floor level and is a top outlet ( with a floating pickup ) and antisyphon valve. Im assuming an air leak somewhere. any thoughts? ta in adv.

Air leak in feed line. When it is running, can you see any bubbles?
The joint around the isolating tap at the top of the draw pipe is a prime suspect, but also withdraw the pipe from the tank and check the non return valve at the bottom. Also check the filter on the GOK is tight, and that the bleed nipple is clear of contaminant. The only other joints are around the fire valve and any isolation tap before the GOK.

the GOK is all aluminium so cant see anything. we dont have a draw pipe that goes down into the tank. we have a floating device ( dont know what its called) that draws oil from the surface. filter and top cover of GOK are both tight. will have a closer look in day light- thanks for the info

problem solved- the feed line and fittings were pressure tested and all is OK. when the new Danfoss BFP 11 pump was fitted the installer didnt remove the horseshoe washer from inside the pump, as it should be for a double pipe system. thanks Oilhead

the tank installers found the pump problem when they were here to test the oil feed. they put it right even though it wasnt their problem- so we offered to pay them for that. we'll get the money back from the bloke who fitted the pump. thanks Bob
