hi all
i recently wired up a light pendent and some sockets in my room. when tightning the screws onto the wire, i overtightned them a bit to much i think, and it caused a indent in the wire frm the screw being overtightned.

have i any reason for concern, or will it be ok, as i said all is working fine

Providing the accessories have not been damaged and it's just the pressure of the grub screw that has marked the cables and not when you striped the cable off.
should be okay.

If you hav'nt made a mark then is the time to worry, that means you hav'nt tightened them enough.

i heard if you overtighten them to much, that overtime(years) the cable will eventually burn out and thats when u need a rewire. is this correct?

Not unless you have tightened them so much that you actually start cutting through the conductors.

Dunno by how much %ge but overheating is caused more often by connections being too loose rather than too tight.
